Nominate That Special Animal
for the 2010 Purple Paw Award!
Animals play an important role in all of our lives, but sometimes an
animal stands out for being a hero or special companion to someone in
need. If you have, or know of, such an animal, nominate him or her for
the 2nd annual Purple Paw Award, given by the Beartooth Humane Alliance.
The winning animal will be recognized at
BHA’s Hair Ball on May
1, 2010, at the Elks Club in Red Lodge. This annual gala raises funds to
help homeless animals in Carbon County. The winner will be presented
with the Purple Paw Medallion, and the animal’s family will receive a
framed photo of the animal with the award generously donated by Montana
Photographic Arts.
Last year, the 1st annual Purple Paw Award was given to Stanley, a
certified Guide Dog for the Blind who assists Chris Northcutt of Red
Lodge. “We were very pleased to recognize Stanley for his dedicated
attention to Chris,” said Diane Zook, BHA President. “This year, we’re
looking for another animal who has shown outstanding courage,
dedication, or skill, an animal who has played a special role in
someone’s life.”
If you have, or know of, an animal who has made an outstanding
contribution through a heroic act or some other demonstration of the
human-animal bond, send your nomination to Purple Paw, BHA, P.O. Box
2333, Red Lodge MT 59068 or email it to
info@beartoothhumane.org.
Explain in detail why this animal should be considered for the award.
Be sure to include contact information for the animal’s family and for
yourself (if you are nominating someone else’s animal).
Deadline for nominations is March 31, 2010.
