Lost and Found

(Please visit our archive if your pet has been missing since 2008 or earlier).

This page is provided as a service to the residents of Carbon County. Anyone who has lost their beloved pet, or any concerned citizen who has found a pet, may contact BHA to have the information posted on this page.

Information we need from you:

  • Your information:  Name and phone number
  • The pet's information:  Breed, sex, age, color, collar/tag, name, any other information which would help identify the animal
  • Incident information: Lost or found, when, where
  • If you have one or two photos, they may be emailed with the above information.

The Lost/Found announcement will be posted on this page for 30 days unless a request is made for an extension.  We also ask that if a pet has been reunited with its owner, that BHA be informed of the great news!

Here are some other ways to be proactive about finding your pet.

bullet Her name is Action Jackson or "Jackie". She is about 8 lbs. White, orange, and black/grey She had a collar on with our names and number, but if she has lost weight, it may have come off. She ran away about three weeks ago now near Point of Rocks in Red Lodge. She is a wonderful cat and very loving. Please call Gena and Chris at 610-416-5837.  Posted Aug 23, 2010.

bullet Our cat Boots went missing Tues. night 7/6/10. He's a yellow tabby with three legs, and is 17. He's frail but very friendly. We think he may have been chased and is hiding somewhere. We are on the corner of S 19th and S. Grant Ave. He has a thyroid condition. Please call 406-446-1332 or 406-855-9164 if you find him. He's a dear member of our family!

bullet 12 year old male husky red and white. He has a collar on with our info. My husband and I were in Red Lodge yesterday. My husband was skiing the first head wall on the switch backs Koda was with him. Unfortunately we lost sight of him for a couple minutes and he ran down towards Glacier Lake Trail Road. Our family is seaching for him. If you have any information on him please call 406-697-1226(Justin Klebe).

Found Companions: (none as of September 2010)

Reunited Companions!:

bullet This border collie was running around the Tipi Village area in Red Lodge after some New Year's Eve fireworks scared her from her yard south of town on Hwy212.  She spent two days in the snow and cold.  Her human companions were out hanging fliers at local businesses when one store owner recommended they contact BHA.  Sure enough, a caring dog-lover had found her, fed her, sheltered her and was hoping her family would know how to find her.  She was one happy pup when her family came to pick her up!

bullet This male, one-eyed, poodle mix was found lost in Bridger on July 7th. On July 10th his 12-year old owner contacted BHA to see report his missing dog.  It was a match!

bullet This sweet, female Blue Heeler was found in Roberts on June 25, 2008 and appears to be in good condition indicating she must have had a home and just wandered off.  On July 5th she was reported as reunited with her owner.

bullet Female pug was lost near the KOA campgrounds four miles north of Red Lodge on Dec 14, 2007.  On January 25th, the pug was reported as reunited with her owner who said it was all due to BHA! A woman who had seen the posting on this website recognized the description of the dog and knew someone that had recently found a similar dog. Another happy ending!

bullet Young black lab mix (5 - 6 months old) wearing a leather collar was reported lost in the Joliet area on Dec 17, 2007.  A month later he was reported as found.

bullet Just having moved to Red Lodge in mid December, this family's cat, "Zoom Zoom" got out and was lost from the Kainu Street area. She is very timid so she was most likely hiding somewhere. Two weeks later BHA received an email from the owner stating "Zoom Zoom was captured in a humane trap and is doing great. She was glad to get back inside and with her warm bed and frequent meals. Thanks for all the encouragement and suggestions for capturing her."
bullet Young, unneutered black lab with white chest found running through Red Lodge with a broken rope around his neck on Dec 13th. Thanks to Grizzly Peak Animal Hospital for taking him in while BHA located the owner!
bullet A boxer mix described as very friendly and a licker was found roaming downtown Red Lodge on Nov 29th.  A concerned citizen took her to Grizzly Peak Vet Clinic on Nov 30th where she was recognized and the owners were called.
bullet A 9 year old, female, Great Pyrenees was reported lost in the Roberts area on November 2.  She eventually found her way back home.

bullet A young, 2 to 3 month old black lab with a red collar (no identification) was lost Sept 14th in Roberts (just about in town on the west bench).  On November 5 he was reported to be back home.

bullet Male, neutered heeler/lab mix (brownish in color) and his companion, a male, neutered Brittany spaniel (wearing a shock collar). Both dogs went missing near Washoe around 5:00 PM on Friday, October 19.  Their owners were able to locate them 3 days later in the Dry Creek area.

bullet Two gray schnauzers, a male and a female, went missing from south of Laurel on October 19th. On October 23rd they were returned to their owner by a neighbor who found the roaming duo.

bullet Rod the cat, was lost on September 8th in the neighborhood of  N. Haggin, Red Lodge.  Over a month later, he was sighted at his former house which was now occupied by new owners.  His family was very happy to find him and is spoiling him with lots of treats to put back the weight he lost while he was missing!

bullet "Daisy" a small, female, white cat with black spots wearing a pink collar escaped from the family van at the Ski Mountain on Wednesday, April 4.  Her family was from out of town and desperate to find her. On April 18th, a good Samaritan in Luther contacted BHA about a sweet kitten she found wearing a pink rhinestone collar -- a match!  BHA was pleased to help reunite this beloved pet with her worried owners!

bullet Doc, a friendly family dog, went missing after being last seen in his yard 10 miles North of Columbus on April 21st.   On April 27th, a gentlemen from Absarokee found Doc.  His owners said, "How he ended up there we will probably never know, but it doesn't matter really because he is safe and sound and home and now microchipped!"
