Foster Homes Desperately Needed

The Beartooth Humane Alliance (BHA) is recruiting individuals to provide foster homes for homeless animals. Foster families provide temporary care and socialization for homeless dogs and cats while BHA finds permanent homes for these animals. Since starting the Foster Care Program in 2007, BHA has found homes for hundreds of homeless cats and dogs. This was only made possible with the help of foster families who willingly open their homes and care for the animals while BHA searches for the perfect permanent family.

BHA believes its Foster Care Program is a win-win-win program for the foster family, the adoptable pet, and BHA!

1. BHA will now offer a small daily stipend for foster care. Generally, a $3.00 per day stipend will be offered for fostering a cat/kittens and a $5.00 per day stipend will be offered for fostering a dog/puppy.

2. BHA will continue to provide each animal age appropriate Science Diet food, kitty litter, collar/identification tag (dog), and all medical care.

3. All that is required of the foster family is supervision, socialization, exercise, shelter, water, and lots of TLC!

Over the past few years, BHA has "lost" many foster homes either because they become "foster failures" meaning they have fallen in love and adopted their foster pet (which is a great thing!), or have moved out of the area, or have had another life change like a new job. BHA now has a serious shortage of good foster homes which could severely impact the future of this program.
