If you’d like to work with companion or service animals the BHA Scholarship Fund will annually make an award of up to $2,500 to an individual pursuing a career that will better the lives of companion and/or service animals. Examples are veterinary medicine, working with animals in humanitarian efforts such as search and rescue, managing animal shelters and animal welfare programs, working with military or police dogs, and training service animals for people with disabilities.
You are eligible to apply for a BHA scholarship if (1) you will graduate from a Carbon County high school in 2017 OR have already graduated high school and live in Carbon County (2) you will attend a regionally or nationally accredited U.S. post-secondary educational institution, and (3) your study program will prepare you for a career that promotes good lives for companion and/or service animals, like the career examples listed above.
The BHA Scholarship is funded through donor-restricted contributions and is not available for any other BHA programs. Donations to BHA for its other programs are not used for the scholarship.
The deadline for the application is April 30. Don’t delay!
